![]() Almost in time for the esteemed visit from Mr. Obert Skye, I finished reading Wonkenstein. This book is written at a 5th grade reading level (Lexile 860L), and an interest level of third to sixth grade. Written in the style of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, with pictures that add to the story the words tell, this story is full of comedy and recognizable life-events. The main character, Rob Burnside, faces difficulties with his friends, family, and girls in his neighborhood. Add to this a creepy closet that produces a crazy little man who is a cross between Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and the monster created in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, and the difficulties get both worse and funnier. I look forward to the next book in this series, which will be published on September 18.
