![]() All girls have probably had the dream to be a princess at some point in their life. Who wouldn't want beautiful clothes, no chores, and servants to wait on them, right? In this second book of the Scandia Series, Jenna is enjoying her new life as a princess, except for the strict palace rules, the mean girl at boarding school who makes it hard to make friends, and the paparazzi who follow her everywhere so she can't even have pizza with her best friend in peace. In The Princess Trap by Kirsten Boie (Lexile: 700; Interest Level: Grades 4-6), Jenna runs away from boarding school (with a boy!), and they both get caught in a trap to overthrow her uncle, the King. It takes some strong character and quick thinking for Jenna to get out of some tough situations, including fighting against people whom she thought were already gone from her life. I really enjoyed the adventure in this modern fairy tale. Any child who has ever dreamt of being royalty should find some interest in this story. (416 pages)
