Teacher Tools
CommonLit
This is an online tool for assigning reading to students in grades 3-12, and assess their comprehension with questions following the text. You could also enable a "guided reading mode" which embeds comprehension questions within the article and the next section of text does not appear until the learner has answered correctly to ensure comprehension. The texts can also be printed as PDF files to include in packets, and the program integrates neatly into Google Classroom.

The Google slides here contain activities for each grade K-8 for this first week of Learning from Home, and they are designed with some teacher slides to be removed before use. They are created specifically for NYC schools, but they are great models with good lessons!
